Burners
The heater or heaters that are used for altitude control. |

Crown line
The rope that is attached to the top of the envelope for the crew to
apply pressure on during inflation to hold the throat open, and used
to pull the balloon down after landing. |

Envelope The
fabric part of the balloon. Could be perceived as the canopy. |

Gondola The
Basket that passengers and pilot will ride in. |

Pibal A
rubber, latex balloon flied with helium, and let go so the pilots can
determine wind direction and speed to plot a flight with. Pibal is
short for pilot balloon |

Skirt The
fabric hanging below the throat used to deflect wind from the burners. |
Skoop Looks like half of a skirt, used to capture wind by
scooping wind into the envelope to help pressurize the balloon. |
Storm Chase When moving around from one spot to another
looking for the right launch spot to fly in the wind we want. |
